9 months in the making

The process has started; excitement is in the air. The good news about my mommy being pregnant is being guarded as a top CIA secret. But like all secrets in India, it has started revealing on the pretext (I will tell you BUT don't tell anyone else).....ha as if that ever worked. Now it's just the waiting game.....9 months of waiting game.

Pregnancy books adorn the shelf of my parent's library. Age old myths of how to behave & carry a baby while pregnant have started doing the rounds. But my parents are very cool with all this and are not getting stressed at all.

My first sonography shows me more like a tadpole then a human. But I guess that's how all baby's evolve. My parents were super excited when they heard my heart beat for the first time. Regular visits to my doctor have confirmed that I am healthy, and in good shape.

A Christmas party is being thrown at my place to OFFICIALLY share the good news about my arrival with my parents friends. New Year's Eve, and my parents are in Ahmedabad with their friends. I like the party at night. I am swaying in the womb to the groovy music....or at least that's what my mom told me. Uttrayan,  and my Grandpa has thrown a Patang Party at our new office building. Rushabhkaka and Sudhadadi have come from USA and there is a Hawaiian theme NRI party for all my family. All this in just my 1st trimester.

STATUTORY WARNING: Too much partying while pregnant can lead to birth of  fun loving & party going babies. Parents bee warned of future late nights of worrying.

A 4D sonography has my parents very excited. For the first time they will see me in 3D and will also get a movie of my moving around in the womb. Later a 3D picture of me on 3rd July had my Mom dumbfounded as I look EXACTLY like my Daddy.

My Shreemant was held at White Lotus Hall at Piplod. I relished the food through my mom & had a ball playing all different games like Guess my Mother's girth, Guess the Chocolate, and Name the Baby.

My parents are visiting Aamby Valley with their friends in June....hello I am just a month away from my due date. But everything turned out well and my Mom did not get sick or anything. Thanks to all their friends who were taking good care of her.

2 false alarms later, my parents are on their way to the hospital all by themselves at 3:30 in the morning of 14th July, 2009. The doctors tell my Mom has started getting contractions and has to be admitted.....Looks like I will be out pretty soon.

Hello Everyone,

My name is Zaina, and this is my story.

My Mom & Dad have just returned from their vacation in Maldives. One of the purpose of the vacations was to have some time to themselves. They both have been working very hard lately and truly deserve the vacation.

October 2008, Diwali is just around the corner and my Dadi is renovating her boutique and wants to start shop before the peak Diwali season. Things are really busy for all my family right now. My Dad is opening his new office. Both my parents being Architects have taken a key interest in both projects and are really busy with the proceedings. Finally before Diwali, both projects are finished and my parents breathe a sigh of relief and look forward to the Diwali break.

5 days of doing sweet nothings during Diwali 2008, and a pregnancy test on October 26 confirms that I am on my way. Both my parents and my grandparents are super excited. After all my parents have been at it since the last 2 years. 

Today, my Dad smoked his Cuban cigar which he got from a friend in Dallas about 1.5 years ago and had been saving it for this special day. Although I realize how excited he is, he should quit smoking.

The next day a visit to my doctor Mitsuben at Me & Mummy confirms the findings of the previous day and I am OFFICIALLY on my way to the world....
